Pets and trained animals have been by our side almost from the beginning of our history, primitive societies used animals to help hunt or cultivate vegetables... but the animal that has probably stayed with us for the longest time is the dog. Throughout our history it has been proved that having a dog has both physical and psychological benefits.
Having a dog is not an easy task, we are in charge of it's life and as every living being, it has to cover it's necessities, so we'll need to have some programmed hours to take it out, keeping our selves active. Furthermore, our pet needs to play and to have fun, as a result, we'll become it's playmate, that means, running, jumping and an endless list of activities that will active our body almost without realizing; doing this thirty minutes per day we'll be doing a really complete and healthy aerobic activity.
Another set of benefits that brings us having a dog are psychological, just the responsibility of having a life in our charge and by knowing that we have to look after it will make us be more reflective and organized. A dog is a very loving pet that is always aware of it's master, this will bring out our feelings and will help us to be more open with the rest of people and improving our character, in addition to an escape for stress.
The last kind of benefits are the personal ones, a dog will become for sure your best friend, he'll always be by your side and he'll never drop you out, moreover he will help you to keep a physical and mental balance in addition to be one of the most loyal animals you can have, so if you own a dog, you're doing a favor for both.
